Robin Hood Tech vs Robinhood Markets: two different businesses

Published by Robin Hood Tech · Checked 1 November 2026

We are Robin Hood Tech, an independent Australian business developing the Robin Hood game. We are not affiliated with Robinhood Markets, the financial-services company behind robinhood.com.

The similar names can make a search confusing. This guide explains which website to use, what our planned game coins mean and why a financial promotion is unrelated to registering for our pilot.

If you want Robinhood investing or Wallet

Start at the official Robinhood website. Check the country, legal provider and product before following an account-opening link. A US investing account, a UK service and the separate Robinhood Wallet are not interchangeable.

For Australian readers, we've explained Robinhood availability in Australia by product. That page distinguishes published brokerage eligibility from an Australian Wallet app listing. A download listing alone does not establish eligibility for every feature.

If you already have an account, use Robinhood's own help routes. Do not send account passwords, verification codes, identity documents or wallet recovery phrases through our website. We do not provide Robinhood Markets customer support.

If you meant our Australian Robin Hood game

We're developing a game built around location-based challenges and virtual collection. Our planned first pilot is controlled, for Australian adults aged 18 or over. Interactive gameplay is stationary-only at approved locations. Details such as invitations, dates and supported devices will be confirmed before participation.

Our pilot coins cannot be cashed out, transferred as money or used to buy investments. Registering interest does not create a brokerage account, qualify you for a Robinhood Markets promotion or guarantee a pilot place.

While development continues, we publish useful activities you can try independently, including an original adult scavenger hunt and photo challenge generator and a guide to treasure hunt apps in Australia. Places in editorial guides are not automatically approved pilot locations.

What if the search was about rewards?

A stock signup promotion, shopping loyalty points, cashback and virtual game coins offer different things. A financial promotion can involve account eligibility, a claim deadline, holding restrictions and investment risk. Our game pilot does not offer an investing bonus or cash earnings.

Use our Australian rewards guide to compare these models before deciding which type of service answers your question.

How we checked this distinction

Our own status comes from our approved pilot scope and app information. We checked Robinhood's official product site and its Wallet guide on 1 November 2026. We have not personally tested Robinhood's accounts or Wallet. This is a factual service guide, not an investment recommendation.
