Queensland Toll Roads: Brisbane and Toowoomba Guide
Queensland currently has seven toll roads, bridges and tunnels. Six are in Greater Brisbane and one is the Toowoomba Bypass.

Toowoomba Bypass
Queensland uses electronic free-flow tolling. There are no cash booths or barriers. A tag is detected as you pass through, or cameras record the vehicle’s registration number.
Linkt is the toll-payment provider used across the Queensland network.
Queensland toll road map
Most Queensland toll roads are concentrated around Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich. The Toowoomba Bypass is the only currently listed toll road outside the Greater Brisbane network.

A single trip can cross more than one toll point. This means the total price may be higher than the individual toll shown for one location.

The prices below are for Class 2 cars, include GST and were checked against Linkt on 22 September 2026.
They do not include video-matching, account or administration fees.

AirportlinkM7 prices are generally adjusted on 1 January. Other Queensland toll prices are generally adjusted on 1 July.
Gateway Motorway tolls
The Gateway Motorway connects the Pacific Motorway in Brisbane’s south with the Bruce Highway in the north. It allows traffic to bypass the Brisbane CBD and provides access to Brisbane Airport and the Port of Brisbane.
The Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges, formerly called the Gateway Bridge, are part of this tolled route.
The main priced toll points are:
Murarrie
Kuraby and Compton Road
Not every journey along the Gateway Motorway crosses both toll points. The amount depends on where you enter and leave.

Logan Motorway tolls
The Logan Motorway connects Logan and Ipswich and links with the Pacific, Gateway and Centenary motorways.
The main Logan Motorway toll points are:

A longer trip can pass through more than one toll point, so the cost may be the combined amount.

Clem7 tunnel
Clem7 is a 6.8-kilometre road that includes a 4.8-kilometre twin tunnel beneath the Brisbane River.
It connects the inner north of Brisbane with Woolloongabba, Shafston Avenue, the Pacific Motorway and Ipswich Road. It also connects directly with AirportlinkM7.
The current Class 2 car toll is $6.77.
AirportlinkM7
AirportlinkM7 is a 6.7-kilometre twin tunnel connecting Brisbane’s inner northern suburbs with Brisbane Airport and the Australia TradeCoast precinct.
Its main connection points are:
Bowen Hills
Kedron
Toombul
Clem7
The amount depends on which section is travelled:

Bowen Hills to Toombul: $7.16
Kedron to Toombul: $5.36
Legacy Way
Legacy Way is a 4.6-kilometre twin tunnel connecting the Western Freeway at Toowong with the Inner City Bypass at Kelvin Grove.
It allows westside traffic to bypass parts of Milton, Paddington and the inner city.
The current Class 2 car toll is $7.30.
Go Between Bridge
The Go Between Bridge is a 300-metre Brisbane River crossing between West End and Milton.
It connects Merivale and Cordelia streets on the southern side with Coronation Drive and Hale Street on the northern side.
The current Class 2 car toll is $4.22.
Toowoomba Bypass
The Toowoomba Bypass is a 41-kilometre route running from the Warrego Highway at Helidon Spa to the Gore Highway at Athol, passing through Charlton.
It gives drivers an alternative crossing of the Toowoomba Range and is particularly important for freight vehicles.
The current Class 2 car toll is $3.00.
The toll point is near Cranley, east of the Mort Street interchange.
How Queensland electronic tolling works
Queensland toll roads have no toll booths and do not accept cash at the roadside.
When a vehicle passes through a toll point:
An electronic tag may be detected.
The trip is charged to the linked toll account.
If no valid tag is detected, cameras record the registration plate.
The trip may be matched to a tagless account or pass.
If no payment arrangement exists, the registered operator may later receive a toll invoice.
A $0.55 video-matching fee currently applies when a valid tag is not detected. For AirportlinkM7, it is charged per trip. On other Queensland toll roads, it is generally charged per toll point.
How to pay a Queensland toll
Use a toll account
A Linkt Tag, Tagless or Commercial account can automatically cover eligible toll-road travel.
Make sure:
The correct registration number is attached
The registration state is correct
The vehicle’s class is correct
The account has a valid payment method
The account has enough funds if it is manually topped up
Buy a Queensland pass
A pass may suit an occasional visitor who does not want a permanent account.
Queensland Linkt passes can cover travel on Queensland toll roads for a selected period.
Pay after travelling
The Queensland Government advises casual users to arrange payment within three days of travelling.
Linkt currently offers products that can be backdated further:
An eligible pass may cover travel from up to five days earlier.
An eligible account may cover travel from up to nine days earlier.
These are Linkt product rules, not an extension of the Queensland Government’s three-day guidance. They can also change, so use the current Linkt Brisbane payment page immediately after travelling.
If more than nine days have passed, search for a toll invoice or contact Linkt.
Can I use an interstate toll tag in Queensland?
Yes. Compatible Australian toll accounts can generally be used across state borders.
This includes existing accounts with providers such as Linkt, E-Toll and EastLink. Check that the vehicle details and registration state are recorded correctly before travelling.
A Queensland pass, however, is intended for Queensland toll-road travel.
What about rental vehicles?
Check the rental company’s tolling arrangement before making a separate payment.
Some companies automatically manage tolls and charge them to the renter. Others require the renter to arrange payment directly.
Record the vehicle’s registration number and state. This is especially important if the rental vehicle is registered outside Queensland.
How to avoid Queensland toll roads
Navigation apps normally have an “avoid tolls” setting. Linkt also provides a Trip Compare tool that compares tolled and untolled routes.
Check the route before leaving. A navigation system may direct you onto a toll road because it is faster, even when a free route is available.
The quickest route is not always the cheapest.
What happens if you forget to pay?
If no payment is arranged, the vehicle’s registered operator may receive a toll invoice containing the toll and additional fees.
If the matter remains unresolved, it may progress to a Demand Notice, debt recovery or a government infringement process. Not every unpaid toll automatically becomes a fine or SPER debt.

Who owns and operates Queensland toll roads?
Linkt is the payment brand. It does not simply own every Queensland toll road.
According to the Department of Transport and Main Roads:
Gateway Motorway, Logan Motorway and AirportlinkM7 operate under long-term Queensland Government concession agreements.
Clem7, Go Between Bridge and Legacy Way operate under long-term Brisbane City Council agreements.
Toowoomba Bypass is owned by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Tolling services are provided through Transurban Queensland, trading as Linkt.
This matters because the road owner, operator, payment provider and government enforcement authority can be different organisations.

How many toll roads are there in Queensland?

Which Brisbane roads are tolled?

Is the Bruce Highway a toll road?
The Bruce Highway itself is not on the current official list of Queensland toll roads. However, a journey on the Bruce Highway may connect with the tolled Gateway Motorway.
Is the Pacific Motorway tolled?
The Pacific Motorway itself is not listed as a Queensland toll road. It connects directly with the tolled Gateway and Logan motorways, so check your planned route carefully.
Is the Story Bridge tolled?
No. As at 22 September 2026, the Story Bridge is not included on the official list of Queensland toll roads.
Are Queensland toll roads cashless?
Yes. Queensland uses free-flow electronic tolling. There are no roadside cash booths or barriers.
How much are Brisbane tolls?
The amount depends on the road, vehicle class and number of toll points crossed. Current Class 2 car tolls range from a few dollars for an individual toll point to more than $7 for some Brisbane tunnel journeys.
Are there toll roads outside Brisbane?
Yes. The Toowoomba Bypass is currently the only Queensland toll road listed outside the Greater Brisbane network.
