What Do Linkt Tag Beeps Mean? 1, 3, 4 or No Beeps

Your Linkt tag uses different beep patterns to warn you about the condition of your toll account or tag. Acting early can help prevent video matching charges, toll invoices and missed payments.

Linkt tag beep meanings

  • 1 beep: the tag has been detected and the account is operating normally.

  • 3 beeps: your account balance may be low. Check the balance and top up if needed.

  • 4 beeps: the account may be suspended. Sign in and address the reason for suspension before further travel.

  • No beep: the tag may not have been detected, may be mounted incorrectly or may need replacement.

What to check after three beeps

Sign in to Linkt, review your balance and confirm that automatic payments are working. An expired card, failed direct debit or insufficient balance can leave future tolls unpaid.

What to do after four beeps

Four beeps are a warning that the account is suspended. Check for a negative balance, failed payment method or another account issue. Continuing to travel can result in number-plate matching and additional fees.

What if the tag makes no sound?

Check that the tag is installed in the correct windscreen position and assigned to the vehicle you are driving. Some windscreens require a special mounting location. If the tag remains silent, contact Linkt about testing or replacement.
