NorthConnex Toll Prices 2026

NorthConnex has a flat toll for each tunnel journey.

From 1 October 2026, the price is $10.74 for a Class A vehicle and $32.23 for a Class B vehicle in either direction.

A connected journey can also include a separate M2 charge.

NorthConnex Toll Prices From 1 October 2026

The announced tolls are:

  • Northbound Class A: $10.74

  • Southbound Class A: $10.74

  • Northbound Class B: $32.23

  • Southbound Class B: $32.23

Until 30 September 2026, the toll is $10.64 for Class A and $31.91 for Class B.

The toll is flat. It does not depend on how far you travel inside the tunnel.

Where Does NorthConnex Run?

NorthConnex, also known as the M11, is a nine-kilometre twin tunnel.

It links:

  • The M1 Pacific Motorway at Wahroonga

  • The Hills M2 at West Pennant Hills

  • Pennant Hills Road connections

Northbound access is available from the M2 eastbound or Pennant Hills Road northbound.

Southbound access is available from the M1 or the Pennant Hills Road on-ramp at Wahroonga.

Is NorthConnex Charged Separately From the M2?

Yes.

A connected journey can include:

  • The flat NorthConnex tunnel toll

  • An M2 connection charge

  • Other M2 toll points, depending on the route

Do Trucks Have to Use NorthConnex?

Certain trucks and buses travelling between the M1 and M2 must use NorthConnex unless they are accessing a genuine destination on Pennant Hills Road.

The rule includes trucks or buses:

  • Longer than 12.5 metres

  • Higher than 2.8 metres

Class A vehicles and recreational vehicles can generally continue using Pennant Hills Road if they choose not to use the toll tunnel.

Heavy-vehicle operators should check current signage and official exemption rules before travelling.

NorthConnex Vehicle Classes

Class A generally covers vehicles no more than 2.8 metres high and no more than 12.5 metres long.

Class B covers vehicles exceeding either dimension.

Trailers, roof loads and vehicle combinations count toward those measurements.

Motorcycles currently fall within Class A.

How to Pay a NorthConnex Toll

NorthConnex is cashless.

Payment options include:

  • A tag account

  • A tagless account

  • A Sydney Pass

  • Another accepted Australian toll account

If you travelled without an account or pass, arrange payment immediately and preferably within two days.

If you receive an unpaid toll reminder or Toll Payment Demand, follow the payment instructions and due date printed on the document.

Will the NorthConnex Toll Fall in July 2027?

The announced July 2027 10% reduction applies to the M2-NorthConnex ramp charge.

It does not apply to the flat NorthConnex tunnel toll itself.

No 10% reduction to the tunnel toll had been officially announced when this page was checked.
