Lane Cove Tunnel Toll 2026

From 1 October 2026, the Lane Cove Tunnel costs $4.33 for a Class A vehicle in either direction.
The toll is fixed. It is not based on distance or time of day.
The Military Road E-Ramp is a separate tolled facility and is not included in the Lane Cove Tunnel charge.

Lane Cove Tunnel Toll Prices
Until 30 September 2026:
Eastbound Class A: $4.30
Westbound Class A: $4.30
Eastbound Class B: $14.94
Westbound Class B: $14.94
From 1 October 2026:
Eastbound Class A: $4.33
Westbound Class A: $4.33
Eastbound Class B: $15.09
Westbound Class B: $15.09
The same fixed toll applies in both directions.
There is no separate peak-hour price.
Where Does the Lane Cove Tunnel Run?
The 3.6-kilometre tunnel connects the Hills M2 at North Ryde with the Gore Hill Freeway at Artarmon.
It provides an alternative to surface travel along Epping Road and bypasses five traffic lights.
The tunnel clearance is 4.4 metres.

Gore Hill Freeway
Westbound access is available from:
Gore Hill Freeway
Pacific Highway

A connected journey can also include an M2 toll.
Is the Military Road E-Ramp Included?
No.
The Military Road E-Ramps are a separate tolled facility in Neutral Bay.
They are not an entrance or exit ramp for the Lane Cove Tunnel.
From 1 October 2026, the separate Military Road E-Ramp prices are:
Class A: $2.16
Class B: $7.55
A journey involving several toll roads or ramps can produce more than one charge.
Lane Cove Tunnel Vehicle Classes
Class A generally covers vehicles no more than 2.8 metres high and no more than 12.5 metres long.
Cars and motorcycles are normally Class A.
Class B covers vehicles exceeding either measurement.
A trailer, caravan, boat or roof load can affect the vehicle class.
How to Pay the Lane Cove Tunnel Toll
The tunnel is cashless.
Payment options include:
A tag account
A tagless account
A Sydney Pass
Another accepted Australian toll account
If you travelled without a valid arrangement, pay immediately and preferably within 48 hours.
A number-plate matching fee can apply when no working tag is detected.
What Happens If the Toll Is Not Paid?
The trip can progress through:
An unpaid toll reminder
A Toll Payment Demand
Debt recovery
Enforcement or a penalty notice
Toll-notice administration fees ended for new NSW trips in July 2026.
The toll and any applicable number-plate matching fee still remain payable.
Lane Cove Tunnel Reduction From July 2027
Lane Cove Tunnel tolls are scheduled to fall by 10% from 1 July 2027.
The exact future dollar price has not been announced.
Do not calculate the future toll from the October 2026 price because further indexation can occur before the reduction begins.
