Eastern Distributor Toll 2026

The Eastern Distributor is currently tolled northbound only.
From 1 October 2026, the flat toll is $10.59 for a Class A vehicle and $21.18 for a Class B vehicle.
The price does not change between peak and off-peak periods.

Class A: $10.48
Class B: $20.97
From 1 October 2026:
Class A: $10.59
Class B: $21.18
Northbound traffic is charged.
Southbound traffic is currently toll-free.
Where Does the Eastern Distributor Run?
The Eastern Distributor is a six-kilometre motorway connecting the airport and south-eastern approaches with the Sydney CBD, Cahill Expressway and harbour crossings.
It includes a 1.7-kilometre double-deck tunnel.
The tunnel clearance is 4.4 metres.
Northbound entries include:
Southern Cross Drive
South Dowling Street
Moore Park Road and Anzac Parade connections
Northbound exits include:
Cross City Tunnel
Macquarie Street
Cahill Expressway
Sydney Harbour Bridge and Harbour Tunnel connections
A northbound journey can continue toward the Sydney Harbour Bridge or connect with the Cross City Tunnel.
These roads can create separate charges.
Which Direction Is Tolled?
The Eastern Distributor is currently tolled northbound.
Southbound travel is currently toll-free.
This means a journey from the airport toward the CBD can attract an Eastern Distributor toll, while the reverse journey currently does not.
The arrangement is expected to change when the Western Harbour Tunnel opens.
Eastern Distributor Vehicle Classes
Class A normally includes cars and motorcycles within the operator’s size and axle limits.
Class B includes other vehicles, including many trucks, buses and oversized vehicle combinations.
A trailer, caravan, boat or roof load can affect the vehicle class.
How to Pay the Eastern Distributor Toll
The road is cashless and Linkt is the toll provider.
You can use:
A tag account
A tagless account
A Sydney Pass
Another accepted Australian toll account
If you travelled without a valid arrangement, pay immediately and preferably within two days.
Number-plate matching fees vary by payment product and are not included in the advertised toll.
What Happens If the Toll Is Not Paid?
An unpaid trip can lead to:
A digital reminder
A Toll Payment Demand
Debt recovery
A penalty notice if the matter remains unresolved
Toll-notice administration fees ended for new NSW trips from July 2026. The toll and applicable number-plate matching fees still remain payable.
Future Two-Way Eastern Distributor Tolling
The NSW Government has announced two-way tolling when the Western Harbour Tunnel opens, currently expected around late 2028.
Each direction is planned to cost 53% of the northbound toll applying at that future time.
Do not calculate a future dollar price from the current toll.
The underlying Eastern Distributor price can be indexed before two-way charging begins.
NSW Toll Relief
Eligible personal Class A Eastern Distributor travel can count toward the temporary NSW $50 weekly toll rebate.
The rebate must be claimed through Service NSW. It is not an automatic reduction applied to each trip.
