CityLink Toll Prices 2026
How much does CityLink cost? It depends on where you enter and leave. From 1 October to 31 December 2026, Linkt’s car prices range across its entry and exit points, with a $12.77 cap for one uninterrupted CityLink trip.
That is a trip cap, not a flat toll. A short journey can cost much less. A return journey is another trip.
Last checked: 1 October 2026.
CityLink car toll examples
These are examples from Linkt’s current price sheet for cars using a toll account:
Monash Freeway / Toorak Road to Punt Road: $6.82
Monash Freeway / Toorak Road to Exhibition Street Extension: $11.08
Monash Freeway / Toorak Road to the Tullamarine Freeway interchange near Bell Street, Moreland Road and Pascoe Vale Road: $12.77
The exact entry and exit matter. If you join CityLink at a different point, your charge may be different. Use Linkt’s full CityLink price sheet to check your route.
What does the $12.77 CityLink trip cap mean?
For a car with an account, $12.77 is the maximum CityLink toll for one uninterrupted trip during this pricing period. It does not mean you can drive on CityLink all day for $12.77.
A trip in the opposite direction is charged separately. Other toll roads on your journey can also affect what you pay overall.
Is the Burnley Tunnel tolled?
Yes. The Burnley Tunnel forms part of CityLink. There is no one car price that covers every journey through it because CityLink charges according to the entry and exit points used.
Check your starting point and destination in Linkt’s price sheet rather than assuming the tunnel itself has a single flat toll. The same approach applies when checking a journey through the Domain Tunnel.
Is the Bolte Bridge tolled?
Yes. The Bolte Bridge is part of CityLink. The charge depends on the CityLink entry and exit points for your journey.
If you are comparing routes, check the full trip. A drive that includes the Bolte Bridge and continues along CityLink can cost more than a shorter CityLink journey.
How much is CityLink to Melbourne Airport?
There is no single “airport toll” for every driver. The price depends on where you enter CityLink and where you leave it on the Tullamarine route.
For example, Linkt lists $12.77 for a car travelling from the Monash Freeway / Toorak Road entry to the Tullamarine Freeway interchange near Bell Street, Moreland Road and Pascoe Vale Road. That is a specific CityLink entry-to-exit example, not a quote for every trip to the airport terminal.
What could a regular commute cost?
If your CityLink journey reaches the $12.77 car trip cap in each direction, that is $25.54 for a return commute. At five workdays a week for 48 working weeks, the CityLink tolls alone would add up to $6,129.60.
That is an example, not a typical bill. Many drivers enter or leave CityLink sooner and pay less. Pass prices, vehicle matching fees and any travel on another toll road can also change the total.
How do I pay a CityLink toll?
CityLink uses electronic tolling. Regular users can use an active toll account. Occasional users should check whether a pass suits their trip and which roads it covers.
Transport Victoria says a suitable pass can be bought before travel or up to three days afterwards. If you have already driven without an active account or pass, arrange payment promptly through Linkt. Waiting for a toll invoice can add fees.
An interstate toll tag can generally be used on Victorian toll roads if your account is active and the vehicle’s registration is correctly listed.
CityLink, West Gate Tunnel and EastLink
CityLink and the West Gate Tunnel are handled by Linkt. EastLink is operated by ConnectEast. They have different pricing systems, so a CityLink trip cap should not be treated as a cap for every toll road in Melbourne.
